BAM (Balyasny Asset Management) has appointed Ashok Bhatia to expand the firm’s macro strategy, according to report in Financial News. Prior to this, Bhatia was a partner and co-head of macro, fixed income, emerging markets and commodities investing at Stark Investments.
BAM has also appointed Colin Lancaster as senior managing director, a former president and COO at Stark. Robert Dishner and Owen Walsh, who also worked on Stark’s macro strategy, will also join Balyasny.
Stark currently has about USD 4 billion in assets under management and Balyasny has about $1.8 billion.
