HedgeFundReview reported that Security and Exchange Board of India has released draft regulations for alternative Investments. Currently SEBI’s regulation is limited to mutual funds, venture capital funds and portfolio managers. SEBI is now working to extend regulation to wide range of funds allowed to invest and market in India. The proposed regulations will increase transparency in the alternative investment industry. The draft is available in SEBI website and open for comment until August 30.
